As I told you in the "Photos otherwise" tab, post-processing work is important if you want to give your photos a style. This has nothing to do with "cheating" (the proof, I show you the photos taken directly from the camera).
Nothing is mandatory, it's a photographer's choice.
But for that you need several criteria to succeed in your "editing" (apart from software)
- don't overdo it
- Have a good subject (the interest of the photo)
- A good composition (gives a balanced photo )
Good exposure (gives contrast between shadows and light)
- And post-production (which can enhance your photos)
